Soon he was able to bring a minute amount of ginseng seed to Lower Saxony and made his first attempts at sowing the seed. A hard time with many failures and renewed attempts had to be overcome but, after ten years, his goal had been achieved: His daughter Gesine Wischmann, together with her husband, founded the smallest pharmaceutical company in Germany, FloraFarm, through which the ginseng products were to be marketed.
Today, at FloraFarm, Korean ginseng is cultivated in an area extending over eight hectares, with an excellent medicinal quality. It is still sold directly at the farm, in the form of pieces of root, capsules and cosmetics. Wischmann's younger daughter, Henrike Rodemeier, officially became the successor to her father in 2004 and she now works hand in hand with her sister.
The increasing number of interested visitors soon resulted in the establishment of an extended range of tours through the ginseng gardens and the opening of the Ginseng Café.
